Mobile Praise Party
I found this new song. Well, it’s been out for a while but recently it has been new to me. I was listening so hard this morning. I was listening to it in the car. I mean I was rocking the accelerator and the gas peddle to the tempo and beating my steering wheel. I had tears almost come completely down my face. As I got closer to my destination, I realized that I just had praise service in my car. “I Made It,” that’s the name of the song by Fantasia, featuring Tye Tribbett. I did just that, I made it.
I made it through the work week. I made it to Friday morning. I made it to the parking lot of my work building. But, I almost didn’t make in the building due to having to regain my presence from all the screaming and hallelujahs. That can really change a girl’s hair, you know. The point is, on this crispy cold morning, I actually did make it. I didn’t miss one day this week. For me and living with my lupus, that is a challenge in itself. I often tell how blessed I am that I can and am able to work full-time.
I don’t take it for granite. But like anybody who’s human, I worry that my flares will completely incapacitate me. (Not that I’m completing working in a ‘normal’ way, anyway. But I try.) The pressure is often on. So if anyone ever asks when do I go to praise service, it will now be on Sundays, in addition to and at least every Friday in my car.

I stumbled upon your blog while looking for lupus-related things, and I’m glad I did! I just turned 29 and I’ve had lupus (well…Diagnosed) since age 22. Before that I had been diagnosed with a different autoimmune disease that effects my kidneys. Lil over 2 years now since I received a new kidney! I’ve only read what I could right now but you are inspiring and I can’t wait to read your books!
Thank you, Anisa! I look forward to hearing more from you!
